Kim has made her living as a writer for more than three decades, working as an Emmy-winning  journalist in network news for twenty years before she began penning fiction.   She resides in a national forest in  Michigan, with few neighbors and a  long drive to get to the nearest airport, movie theater, or ethnic restaurant.  She never imagined herself a novelist;  her first book, Hunter’s Pursuit, was  written as a way to fight off cabin  fever during a long winter and was  sent off to a publisher at the encouragement of friends. The positive  feedback she received from readers hooked her to continue writing  more romantic lesbian adventures.    Travel is a major obsession. Kim first went to Europe at age fourteen,  traveling with her parents on a five week excursion through a dozen  countries. Four years later, she returned as part of a singing and  dancing troupe, performing in town squares and castles and staying  with local families.    Birthday: February 24 Occupations: Camp Counselor, Journalist, Author Favorite Foods: Pasta, Vegetables, Ethnic Specialities -- Greek, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, Italian, Indonesian, Indian Guilty pleasures: 15-minute chair massages in the Detroit and Colorado Springs airports whenever I pass through (email me if you know of other airports with this!); oliebollen, belgian waffles with cherries, fudge, and whipped cream, aromatic bubblebaths, amaretto on the rocks Passions: Writing, Travel, Photography, Music, Art, the Environment On my MP3: Lara Fabian, Sara Ramirez ( her version of “The Story” is my current favorite song), Dusty Springfield, Sara Bareilles, Michalis Hatziggianis, Leona Lewis, Adele, Brandi Carlile, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Bruno Mars, Anita Baker, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Norah Jones, kd lang, Ottmar Liebert, Robbie Williams, Ronan Keating, Rod Stewart, Michael Buble, Il Divo, Frank Sinatra Favorite Movies: Cairo Time, A Single Man, Rear Window, Silence of the Lambs, The King’s Speech, The Godfather, Murphy’s Romance, The Godfather, Hereafter, To Kill a Mockingbird, Into the Wild, The Edge, Eat,Pray,Love, Under the Tuscan Sun Sports: Kayaking, Archery, Skiing  Musical Instruments I’ve tried: Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukelele, Alto Saxophone, Flute, Piano Pet Peeves: Long lines, animal cruelty, clutter, intolerance, rudeness, liars, narcissists Favorite things: My cats Domino and Jake, driving the blue 1975 Porsche 914 I inherited from my Dad with the top off The decades since have been filled with many more far-flung  excursions....riding a camel at the Pyramids of Giza, crossing the U.N. green  line at Cyprus, dogsledding above the Arctic Circle in Alaska, watching Paris  awaken from atop Notre Dame Cathedral, motorcycling the Blue Ridge  parkway, watching shuttles launch from a kayak near Cape Canaveral, skiing  Whistler/Blackcomb, British Columbia, climbing Diamondhead in Hawaii.
